Hi! I’m Alan Barker, founder and photographer behind Inner Essence Boudoir, based on the Capricorn Coast in Central Queensland.
My goal is simple: to help women feel confident, beautiful, and empowered in front of the camera. You don’t need any posing or photography experience. I’ll guide you every step of the way, from finding flattering angles to poses that feel natural and authentic to you.
For me, boudoir is about celebrating who you are and creating beautiful images that capture your confidence and inner strength.
Outside the studio, I’m a proud husband of 30 years and a father of two adult children. Family means everything to me. I’m also a lifelong Manly Sea Eagles supporter and never miss a chance to cheer them on!

My Approach to Boudoir
I’m an on-location boudoir photographer specializing in photographing women, men, and couples 40+ in boudoir and fine art nude photography. Rather than working from a traditional studio, I bring the experience to you, traveling to private homes, Airbnbs, hotels, or other locations depending on the vision and comfort of each client.
Before boudoir, I spent decades photographing landscapes and wildlife, always traveling, exploring new places, and working with whatever environment was in front of me. When I transitioned into boudoir photography, I naturally brought that same approach with me.
Today, every session is a little different. New locations, new environments, and most importantly, a new woman with her own story. I love creating beautiful, intimate portraits wherever the journey takes me.
From Landscape to Bodyscape
My decades as a landscape photographer have shaped the way I photograph the human body. I’ve mastered Bodyscape photography by using light, shadow, curves, and form to transform the body into an almost abstract landscape. It’s where my experience in landscape photography naturally meets the art of the human form.
